New versions of njMule, as the signed information of its releases on GitHub tells: looked for, downloaded and checked against that information, and installed where njMule may replace itself (the Windows installer and zip, the macOS app, the Linux archives).

POST /update/check
Joins the check already running, if any. A check that takes longer than ten seconds goes on
POST /update/skip
Stops telling of a version, unless it fixes a security problem.
POST /update/download
Joins the download already running, if any. One that takes longer than ten seconds goes on
POST /update/install
Now (the default), njMule saves everything, stops, puts the new version in place and starts
